A message from our principal, Micheal Andrus:

Mr. Andrus

For those of you who are returning to Summit, welcome back! For those of you who are new to our school, congratulations on becoming a SkyHawk! I hope that you enjoyed your summer and are excited about starting this new year. I’m looking forward to our fourth year here at Summit High School and all of the new, positive opportunities it will provide. I am also looking forward to the milestone of having our inaugural 9th grade class finally become Seniors! One-oh! You know!

We are expecting approximately 600 new students this year, for a total of around 2,600. We anticipate having 13 new teachers and are eagerly waiting to see what exciting, new concepts and skills they will bring to our campus. We will have an expanded dance program this year, as well as adding ROP classes such as Information Technology A+ Certification. Our football field has been beautifully revamped to remove the rocks and to add sod. Hopefully, we’ll get our long-awaited electronic scoreboards and shade structures this year.

Our last day of school will be Friday, May 28, 2010. Graduation and Grad Nite will be on Thursday, May 27, 2010. Be sure to mark your calendars! Our regular day bell schedule begins at 7:40 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. I cannot emphasize enough how imperative it is that you be here on time, every day. Good attendance makes for good grades and a much more valuable educational experience.

Summit High School is your school. Be true to your school and remember to be respectful to your teachers, your classmates, your parents and most importantly -- yourself. With everyone's hard work Summit will SOAR again this year!
