Meet our new teachers

Hey SkyHawks!  Ready to get your 50’s and 60’s spirit on?  Well here’s your chance beginning Tuesday, September 2nd all through Friday, September 5th and leading up to our first dance of the school year there will be a girls vs. boys on Tuesday.  Girls wear pink and boys wear black.  Wednesday is stunna shades and scarf day.  Thursday is hippie day and Friday will be 50s day to get in the spirit of our 50s sockhop dance.  Show your school spirit and dress up!

Key Club’s first meeting will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2008, after school in room C-108 new comers are welcome!

ACT Fee Waivers have arrived.  If you need one see Mrs. Guillen in the College/Career Center.

Attention all new baseball players:  There will be an initial meeting in room F-207 on Thursday after school.  Any further information contact Coach Amador or Coach Delgado.

Attention all you rockers!  Guitar Club will meet on Tuesday, September 2nd in room C-210 at 2:35.  This is an informational meeting that will last until 3:00 p.m.  Anyone with a guitar is welcome….Mr. Mastas hopes to see new & returning students.  There will be a jam session at 3 pm that will last until 4 pm!

Hello, Sophomore Class, we are having a meeting on August 27th, which is Wednesday.  Today we are open to all opinions to what you want to do!!! It is in room E-105 for 1st lunch and D-207 for 2nd lunch.

Attention Students: ROP classes have begun!  If you signed up for an ROP class you must attend class otherwise you will be dropped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SENIOR CLASS MEETING will be held Wednesday in C-202 during both lunches.  We will be voting on the graduation announcements.  If you want a say in your graduation, you need to be there.

HOMEWORK CENTER:  Any students that need extra help with their school work can come to any of our Homework Centers available after school (Monday – Thursday) and also before school on Wednesday in the library.  The Homework Center will begin on Monday, 8/25/08.  Copies of the schedule will be posted in the offices and classrooms. 

Attention Students:  ROP classes a filling up quickly!  Careers in Marketing, Auto Systems, and Computer Security are still available.  To sign up, go to F115 on Tues, Thurs, or Fri from 8:00 – 2:00

Seniors - Information & Applications for Privileges will be out after the 5th week of school

Bus Pass Information is on line on the FUSD Web Site- Information on the application process, prices and distances as well as how to apply by mail is there for you. All bus passes must be applied for by mail.

Driving to School?- You must have a valid license, insurance and permit from SHS.

Electronic Devices are Not allowed to be used between 7:40am and 2:30 pm.

We are strongly enforcing the electronic device rules. If we see or hear them we will take them. Items taken will be returned to a parent between 2:45 and 3:30pm. If parents cannot pick these up we will return them to students on the following Monday. Parent pick up can be done at your childs grade level Assistant Principals office- 12th Graders Ms.Guerrucci -Pierce, 11th Graders Mr. Lopez, 10th Graders Mr. Roth and 9th Graders Mrs. Fant. Student pick up for first time violators is the Monday following the item being taken. Second or more violations must be picked up by a parent and students will receive school consequences. We will only release taken electronic devices to parents and guardians listed on the Emergency list for each student. We cannot release property to anyone else.

 

Reminder: No electronic devices are to be used during school hours. Students should not bring cell phones, Ipods, MP3 players, Blackberries etc. to school. These items are often stolen. The best way to protect your electronic device is to NOT bring them to school.

Dress Code is being enforced!

 

Students: Do not leave backpacks and personal possessions unattended. We have had a few thefts lately and the only common factor has been that the items were left unattended. Be sure and always have your possessions on you at all times!
